Our beloved Happy Camp was originally created back in the early days of Canyon Lake when many of the property owners had lots, but had not built houses on them. Because they were property owners, they could come out and use the lake and the other amenities and Happy Camp was where they were able to stay while having fun in the lake. There is also a provision that folks can stay long term at Happy Camp while their home is being built.
Even today, Happy Camp gets a lot of use from residents who want a mini vacation but don't want to have to drive. It's also available for guests of residents if they've been granted access to the community.
Because the campground is on the water at the South end of the main lake, it offers great views and the ability to play in the water. It's like a vacation at the beach.
It's over 7 acres in size and features more than 50 sites that are great for RV or tent camping. Some sites are on the water and many of the sites have full hook-ups, including TV.
Onsite facilities include restrooms with showers, and a laundry. Ice and bait is available. There is also a gas dock on the water so you can fill the boat. Additional amenities include a fish cleaning station, playground equipment, and three docks so you can tie up the boat.
During certain holidays, the campground completely fills up, so a waiting list and sign-up period is usually in effect for a few weeks prior.
