Recreation

The Lake

Canyon Lake Aerial ViewThe lake is the centerpiece of our community with limitless recreation opportunities for property owners and their guests. The nearly 400 acre lake is available year round for boating, fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, and paddling.  Additionally there is our North Ski Lake with a dedicated permanent ski course and the jump lagoon where you might occasionally see top notch jumpers practicing or competing. Community Pool

Canyon Lake Pool ThumbnailThe community pool at the lodge is a great respite from the summer heat and provides refreshing exercise and play opportunities typically from March through November.  A portion of the pool is dedicated to lap swimming each day and there are low impact group exercise programs available at various times. Golf Course

Canyon Lake Golf ThumbnailThe Canyon Lake golf course presents a challenge for any respectable golfer with it's par 72 that winds through the community with tricky greens, interesting tee placements, and challenging lies all along the way. Join the Men's or Women's Golf Club to work on your game and meet new friends.  the pro shop is stocked with the latest gear and the club pro is available for lessons. Tennis and Pickleball

Canyon Lake Tennis ThumbnailCanyon Lake is fortunate to have an active tennis community and top notch courts and facilities to play on. The lit facilities feature pickelball as well.  The tennis club holds regular tournies and our community tennis pro is there to assist you with your game and organize events for the club and community. Equestrian Center

The Lodge

Located in the center of the community with stunning lake views, the lodge is a landmark within the community and the location of many of Canyon Lake's activities and events.  With a restaurant, bar, ballroom, meeting rooms, and banquet facilities, its a multi-purpose building for the residents. Parks and Beaches

Launch Ramps

There are two boat launch ramps in the community for convenience. The main launch ramp is located off Village Dr at the Holiday Harbor park.  The East Bay launch ramp is at the east end of the lake and can be accessed via East Port park near the East Gate entrance to the community.  Both launch ramps feature ample parking for vehicles and trailers and plenty of room to maneuver.

Senior Center

Designed to empower and entertain seniors, the Canyon Lake Senior Center features a variety of activities, classes, and social opportunities. Engage in lifelong learning, foster new friendships, and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. RV Storage Facility

The RV storage facility is centrally located within the community just off Loch Lomond drive.  The facility includes indoor and outdoor covered and outdoor un-covered parking for RV's, boats, and vehicles.  There are storage containers available for household goods or other items.  You can contact the storage facility at 951-244-5575 for more information. The storage facility is not managed by the Property Owners Association.

Happy Camp

Early in Canyon Lake's development, before many of the houses were built, the community recognized that a local campground would be a great amenity so that property owners would have a place to stay within the community to enjoy the amenities prior to building a house.  With time, Happy Camp has become one of our most popular amenities for both residents who want to camp on the water close to home and for guests of residents who might be in town for a visit.  Click here to learn more about Happy Camp and it's facilities.

Marina

Englers Landing is our community marina located centrally in the community just off Canyon Club drive.  The marina is a well maintained and gated facility with permanent docks that can be rented on a monthly or annual basis.  Some docks feature electrical power for charging electric boats or trolling motors.  Parking for the docks is in the Lodge parking lot.  The docks are generally in high demand and typically have a waiting list.

 

Community and Activities

Clubs and Associations

Canyon Lake has almost 50 different clubs and organizations to represent residents' various hobbies and interests.  Clubs in the community often sponsor or put on different events for residents and their guests throughout the year.  Many of the organizations are charitable and go to great lengths to give back to the community.  Some of the more popular clubs include the Bassmasters, the Car Club, Canyon Lake Association of Women, Fitness and Triathlon Club, Ski Club, Men's and Women's Golf Clubs, the Travel Club, and the Tennis Club to name a few.  Check out our page for Clubs and Associations to see if there's a group that you'll want to join.

Events

One of the reasons living in Canyon Lake feels like a year-round vacation because there are so many activities and events available to residents.  In the summer, you have weekly Taco Tuesdays at the Lodge, the Fiesta Day Parade over Memorial Day Weekend, Concerts in the park and at the Lodge, Movie Nights in the pool, and summer camps for the kids, just to name a few.  In the fall and winter, there's the super popular Car Show, Christmas boat parade, Pancakes with Santa, the Polar Bear Plunge and many others.  There's no shortage of events to participate in or watch.  Click here to find out more about our events schedule.

Classes and Lessons

The Property Owners Association and some of the clubs in Canyon Lake offer classes during the year to help introduce residents to new activities or help them improve their skills.  The Tennis Club offers lessons, the Wakeboard club has Learn to Ride Days, the Seniors Center offers tech classes, and there are swim lessons available at the pool for example.  Follow this link to find out about some of the many classes and lessons available to residents.
